Understanding Support at Home Categories

Breaking down the three Support at Home categories
Since the Support at Home program began on 1 November 2025, it has brought in-home aged care together under one clearer system. If you are trying to work out what help is available to you or someone you love, the easiest way to make sense of it is to look at how the supports are grouped.
Every service is organised into three categories, plus two short-term pathways. Below is what each category means, and the specific services our team provides within it.
Covers the health-related support you need at home, funded entirely by the government with no contribution required. Includes nursing care, allied health services (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry), continence support, and nutrition and dietetics support.
Supports you to remain active and connected in daily life. Includes personal care (showering, dressing, mobility support), social support and community access, respite care for carers, and transport to appointments or activities. A contribution may apply depending on your means assessment.
Covers the practical tasks that keep your home running smoothly. Includes domestic assistance (cleaning, laundry), meal preparation, gardening and home maintenance, plus assistive technology and home modifications to help you live safely and comfortably.
Not all Support at Home needs are ongoing. Alongside the three categories, the program includes two short-term pathways, Restorative Care and End of Life Care, designed to respond quickly during particular moments in life, like recovering after a hospital stay or navigating the final stage of life.
Our Restorative Care focuses on helping you rebuild strength and independence after a setback such as a fall, an illness or a hospital stay, bringing together nursing and allied health for a short, goal-focused period. It can be used on its own or alongside your ongoing supports, and is coordinated through our Restorative Care Management.
For people who wish to remain at home in their final months, this pathway provides compassionate, higher-level support and faster access to care. Our focus is on comfort, dignity and coordination, caring for the whole person so this time can be spent at home, surrounded by the people and things that matter most.
Resolute Care Group is a registered Support at Home provider caring for older Australians across Townsville, Ayr and the wider North Queensland region. Whether you are new to aged care or moving across from a Home Care Package, our nurse-led team can help you understand your options and put the right supports in place.

Yes. You can use a mix of categories depending on your needs. For example, nursing support under Clinical Care alongside domestic help under Everyday Living.

As your circumstances change, we can adjust your plan across categories or bring in a short-term pathway like Restorative Care if needed.
In most cases, you’ll need an assessment through My Aged Care first. Our team can guide you through that process if you’re not sure where to start
